Viva Las Vegas: Former Orlando Anchor’s New Job Revealed

By the end of July, Sin City will have a new morning anchor team featuring former Orlando anchorman Cale Ramaker.

Ramaker, who worked at FOX affiliate WOFL for the last seven years, will anchor the morning show from 4 to 7 a.m. at KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas.

Hattiesburg Gets New ABC Affiliate

The Hattiesburg-Laurel market has a new channel on the dial, thanks to an agreement with Raycom Media and ABC.

The new affiliate will be carried on a subchannel of WDAM, the NBC affiliate for the market.

Former Knoxville Reporter Jumps to Cleveland

Former WVLT-TV journalist Sara Shookman will be Cleveland NBC affiliate WKYC’s newest reporter, jumping 43 spots in the process.

In fact, her first day was today, according to her Twitter account.

Tri-Cities Meteorologist Back At Work After Crossbow Injury

Orlando Blog: Florida CBS Affiliate Goes HD

For more than two weeks, Orlando CBS affiliate WKMG has been broadcasting newscasts in full high definition.

A reader wrote into Hal Boedeker’s Orlando Sentinel blog to mention the upgrade.

WKMG General Manager Skip Valet confirmed the change. It debuted Saturday, June 2.

Unconfirmed: Shreveport Reporter Skyrockets To Dallas

Columbus, Chattanooga Among Stations To Use Rentrak Ratings System

Two stations in the South TV News area will soon be receiving an alternative to Nielsen for its ratings information.

Morris Network, Inc., has signed a deal with Rentrak Corp. to provide daily ratings that it says is more dependable than the diary method Nielsen’s used for years.

Knoxville Station Gets New ND

Christy Moreno has been tapped as WBIR-TV’s news director, her first ND job after several producing stints.

Industry firm Rick Gevers reports Moreno previously served asĀ assistant news director at KENS-TV in San Antonio, Texas.
