Viva Las Vegas: Former Orlando Anchor’s New Job Revealed

By the end of July, Sin City will have a new morning anchor team featuring former Orlando anchorman Cale Ramaker.

Ramaker, who worked at FOX affiliate WOFL for the last seven years, will anchor the morning show from 4 to 7 a.m. at KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas.

Sorrell had spent the last seven years at the Miami FOX affiliate as a reporter on “Today in Florida.”

Former WFLA-TV morning anchor and managing editor Bill Ratliff has died.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the 37-year broadcast journalism veteran passed away Tuesday, May 8, after complications from surgery.

Birmingham Morning Anchor Announces He’s Leaving TV News

After two decades as a familiar face among those who work and live in the Birmingham, Ala., area, WBRC morning show anchor Rick Journey has announced he’s leaving the station and the business next month.

Journey began his career at the station in 1992, working in the Tuscaloosa newsroom. He would then move on to covering state politics in Montgomery.

Longtime morning anchor Pamela Smith has ended her career at Little Rock-Pine Bluff ABC affiliate KATV after 21 years at the station.

In a farewell article on the station’s website, Smith said she felt “tremendously blessed to have been in a field that I have enjoyed [for that long].”

Shreveport Anchor Gets Promoted To Mornings

Denise Middleton, an anchor with Shreveport, La., CBS affiliate KSLA, is being promoted to morning and noon anchor, her agency said this week.

TVNewser reports Middleton is represented by The NWT Group.

There’s no word yet on when the Texas native will make the shift.

Rhiannon Ally, a former news personality at WCBS in New York City, was named morning anchor at Miami, Fla., CBS affiliate WFOR last week.

She started her new gig at the Florida O&O yesterday (Monday).

The Miami Herald reports she’ll co-anchor the morning newscast with Jawan Strader.
