By the end of July, Sin City will have a new morning anchor team featuring former Orlando anchorman Cale Ramaker.

Ramaker, who worked at FOX affiliate WOFL for the last seven years, will anchor the morning show from 4 to 7 a.m. at KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas.

The Orlando Sentinel reports the move will put Ramaker closer to his family, and he’s excited about the opportunity.

From the article:

“The morning newscast is becoming a major emphasis in local news,” Ramaker said. “The station I’m going to is making a massive effort to improve its position in the morning.”

As South TV News reported earlier this month, Ramaker’s contract with WOFL was not renewed shortly after the May ratings period, though Ramaker told us the decision to move on was his, not the FOX affiliate’s.

He reiterated that point to the Orlando Sentinel.

“I’m tremendously blessed and fortunate to be able to move on my own terms,” Ramaker told the Orlando Sentinel’s Hal Boedeker. “It’s a fabulous station. I’m really, really lucky.”

Congratulations on the new job, Cale!
