May Sweeps: WJXT Comes Out Ahead Once Again in Jacksonville

WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Fla., has again won the ratings war, claiming first in every  weekday timeslot for news in the May period.

The independent station led by 7/10 of a ratings point at 5 a.m.; that lead more than doubled to 1.7 points over WTLV at 6 a.m.

Florida NBC O&O Launches New Lifestyle Show

It’s called “6 In The Mix,” and Miami NBC affiliate WTVJ seems to be sparing no expense on the new show’s presentation.

TVNewsCheck reports the show, which is slotted to air weekdays at 11:30 a.m., will be hosted by WTVJ’s own Roxanne Vargas and aims to give viewers a fast-paced look at lifestyle and entertainment options throughout Miami and South Florida.

Stephanie Kolp’s new job keeps her in Florida, but she’s moving up to a Top 25 market in the process. Kolp currently works as a reporter for WBBH, the NBC affiliate in Ft. Myers.

As of next month, though, she’ll be working in Orlando for WESH-TV.

Rosa Flores will be the new 4 p.m. anchor and reporter at WBRZ-TV, the ABC affiliate for the Baton Rouge, La., market.

TVSpy reports Flores worked at WDSU-TV in New Orleans as a reporter. Her biography has been pulled from the website, but Flores’ official site still has her listed as working for the NBC affiliate.
