May Sweeps: WJXT Comes Out Ahead Once Again in Jacksonville

WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Fla., has again won the ratings war, claiming first in every  weekday timeslot for news in the May period.

The independent station led by 7/10 of a ratings point at 5 a.m.; that lead more than doubled to 1.7 points over WTLV at 6 a.m.

The station’s two-hour morning show even beats out the Today Show and Good Morning America on the other local affiliates, with a 6.1 household rating and a 17 share.

In fact, that’s the 11th straight month the morning show has outperformed the competitors.

For the evening newscasts, WJXT-TV leads the 5 p.m. by a full ratings point, at 5:30 by nearly two points and at 6 p.m. by 1.7 points.

Station totals for the 10 p.m. newscast were not available.

Exact tallies of stations were not provided by the station nor Nielsen but a press release on the station’s website states how well WJXT performed last month.
