Florida native Christina Leavenworth has landed back in her home state after a stint at WWL-TV in New Orleans. Leavenworth was the morning traffic reporter there.

WEAR-TV–the ABC affiliate for the Mobile, Ala.,-Pensacola, Fla., market–has given her a weekend anchor and reporter position, hiring the Niceville native last week.

Report Claims Former Ft. Myers Anchor Will Return to Florida

Former Ft. Myers anchorwoman Krista Fogelsong may be returning to the city soon, according to rumblings from unidentified sources at WBBH, the NBC affiliate in Ft. Myers.

The News-Press reports Fogelsong will leave WBND in South Bend, Ind., sometime within the next three weeks (after May ratings).

Time for new smiling faces at one Little Rock, Ark., station. Well, okay, at least one.

Popular blog Arkansas TV News reports Jocelyn Tovar, former crime and courts reporter for KTXS in Abilene, Texas, will be a new general assignment reporter for KARK, the NBC affiliate for the Little Rock-Pine Bluff market.

Emmy Award-Winning Reporter Gets Memphis Job

Texas native Michele Reese has been hired by WREG-TV, the CBS affiliate for the Memphis, Tenn., market, where she’ll serve as a reporter.

According to her biography on the WREG website, Reese had previously worked at KYTX in Tyler, Texas as the 5 p.m. anchor and investigative reporter.

East Tennessee Station Hires Anchor And Reporter

WCYB, a Tri-Cities-TN-VA NBC affiliate, has hired two new broadcast journalists.

TVNewser reports Julie Newman will co-anchor the 5:30 and 11 p.m. newscasts beginning Wednesday, April 4. Newman previously worked at Blue Ridge PBS as a producer and host.

Florida Reporter’s New Job Takes Him Farther East

The News-Press reports Repp leaves the NBC affiliate for WPEC-TV, the CBS station in the West Palm Beach-Ft. Pierce market.

TVNewser reports Butera will be the new primary anchor at WZVN in Ft. Myers.

New Orleans Station Gets New Weekend Sports Anchor

Bryan Salmond, who’s been the regional sports director at KEZI-TV in Eugene, Ore., and KDRV-TV in Medford, will be joining the staff at WWL-TV in New Orleans in mid-March.

In a news release from WWL, Salmond will provide weekend sportscasts and be a part of the “Fourth Down on Four”/”Fourth Down Friday” high school football programs.

Salmond actually began his career in sports journalism at CNN/Sports Illustrated, and his career has taken him to Texas, Montana and even a stint in Las Vegas as a weekend sports anchor there.

Big Apple Talent Comes to Miami Station as Morning Anchor

She started her new gig at the Florida O&O yesterday (Monday).

The Miami Herald reports she’ll co-anchor the morning newscast with Jawan Strader.

New Orleans Reporter Hired By Rival Station, Calls Move “Natural Fit”

He’s been a reporter for WGNO-TV in New Orleans for more than two decades. Tomorrow night, Don Dubuc will be on his competitor’s airwaves, market leader WWL-TV, for a 6 p.m. report.

In an interview with the Times-Picayune‘s Dave Walker, Dubuc talks about how he wants to cover stories that appeal to the Pelican State’s roots, but it will be more broad than the cooking segments he’s done for years.
