Rhiannon Ally, a former news personality at WCBS in New York City, was named morning anchor at Miami, Fla., CBS affiliate WFOR last week.

She started her new gig at the Florida O&O yesterday (Monday).

The Miami Herald reports she’ll co-anchor the morning newscast with Jawan Strader.

But why is it such an interesting hire?

Because her husband, Mike Marza, is a news anchor for FOX station WSVN, a market rival, according to TVNewser.

Ally has replaced Marybel Rodriguez, who was on mornings temporarily while the station looked for a permanent replacement. WFOR called the hire “an important part of our news team,” in a statement acquired by TVNewser:

So, Florida viewers, how’s she doing so far?
