Former KSLA-TV reporter Erin Stevenson will soon be starting at an unnamed Dallas, Texas television station.
That’s if information from an Arkansas TV blog is accurate, of course.

An Austin news director with Little Rock ties has left NBC affiliate KXAN after the station found itself in legal trouble earlier this month.
But it’s unclear whether or not Michael Fabac, who had also been ND at Little Rock’s KLRT, left voluntarily.
Two lawsuits filed against the station — one from a former weekend morning meteorologist — have sent shockwaves through the building.
Gary Cooper, multimedia journalist at KTBS in Shreveport, La., has accepted a job in his hometown of San Antonio.
TVSpy reports Cooper will re-join KENS as a multimedia reporter next month.
Nexstar Broadcasting, which operates or owns 55 television stations across the U.S., has announced a 19.6 percent increase in net revenue for the first quarter of 2012 versus last year.
Two of those stations Nexstar owns are in the South TV News viewing area: KARK in Little Rock, Ark., and KTAL in Shreveport, La.
Denise Middleton, an anchor with Shreveport, La., CBS affiliate KSLA, is being promoted to morning and noon anchor, her agency said this week.
TVNewser reports Middleton is represented by The NWT Group.
There’s no word yet on when the Texas native will make the shift.
Congratulations, Denise!
Mark McKay will be the new vice president and general manager for KTAL-TV, the NBC affiliate for the Shreveport, La.-Texarkana, Texas market, Nexstar Broadcasting announced today.
The hire brings McKay full circle, because he actually began his broadcasting career at KTAL in 1980 as a news anchor/reporter.
Southeastern U.S. states have been bombarded by icy conditions in recent weeks. And despite the fact that local stations report the slippery situations as a way to help save lives (and gain viewers), it seems even the news vans themselves are not immune to the hazardous conditions.
Texas publication Shelby County Today reports a van/live truck from KTBS, the ABC affiliate for the Shreveport, La. area, was traveling south on Highway 96 when it lost control and slid across the highway’s northbound lanes and rolled over.
The driver was transported to a local hospital, but his injuries were not described in the publication, so there’s no indication if it was serious or not. State troopers are still investigating the accident.
Since winter still isn’t over yet, please remember: be careful on those roads. You don’t want to become part of the story.
Well, that didn’t take long.
The blog Arkansas TV News is reporting Chris Huston will be starting as KTAL’s news director next month.
The hire comes three weeks after Willy Walker was fired January 4 for undisclosed reasons.
Huston had previously been the news director at KIDK until a shared services agreement spelled management layoffs at the Pocatello-Idaho Falls CBS affiliate.
From MediaJobsDaily.com:
KIDK Channel 3 in Idaho Falls is entering into a shared services agreement with its competitor, the ABC affiliate KIFI, reports TVNewsCheck.
That means in English: 27 of KIDK’s 43 employees will be out of work.
KIDK General Manager Jim Wareham and News Director Chris Huston are both getting the axe [as well], presumably because one station doesn’t need two sheriffs, if you’ll permit the mixed metaphor.
Huston begins at KTAL on February 7, according to the blog.
Though I’m not sure why exactly he was canned, a blog covering Arkansas-related television news posted this tidbit yesterday about the news director in Shreveport, La.:
A tipster says that Willy Walker, News Director at KTAL, Shreveport was fired today!
Personally, I’d lose the excitement that came across in that sentence, but that’s what we’re hearing. Can anybody confirm from KTAL?
