The Hattiesburg-Laurel market has a new channel on the dial, thanks to an agreement with Raycom Media and ABC.

The new affiliate will be carried on a subchannel of WDAM, the NBC affiliate for the market.

TV News Check reports WDAM will provide local news coverage for the channel three times a day, serving as lead-ins to Good Morning America, World News and Nightline.

From the article:

“We look forward to better serving the viewers and communities in the Hattiesburg DMA by providing them a local outlet for ABC programming,” Raycom CEO Paul McTear said. “This new affiliation will allow us to add additional local news and greater opportunities to have more local content for the Hattiesburg and Laurel viewers.”

The new channel launched June 11.

  1. WDAM is the worst news station I have ever seen. It’s all about minority news and events and what can everyone do for them. Don’t understand why you can’t report the truth, maybe it’s because your just like your sister network msnbc. When jay Leno is gone there will be no reason left for me to watch your network anylonger
