Meteorologist Dave Cocchiarella, a familiar face in many Orlando households for more than a decade, left Central Florida News 13 last week, according to Florida News Center.

The cable-only station, owned by Bright House Networks, released this short statement:

“Dave Cocchiarella chose to no longer be with News 13. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

Speculation about why he left continues, though.

Former Bay News 9 anchor Jennifer Holloway was charged Sunday night (May 13) with driving under the influence after being stopped in Fort Meade, Fla., according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The Tampa Bay Times reports the 37-year broadcast journalism veteran passed away Tuesday, May 8, after complications from surgery.

TV Reporter’s Cause of Death Revealed

Authorities have now released the cause of death for Ken Ward, the former morning reporter for WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N.C., who was found dead in his home Jan. 4.

As South TV News reported earlier this year, 44-year-old Ward had been gearing up to start in Tampa, Fla., the next week for ABC affiliate WFTS-TV.
