Charles Billi, former Miami news anchor, has now taken a job at Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla., CBS affiliate WTSP.

Billi left WSVN in 2011 with 12 years under his belt, saying he wanted to pursue other opportunities.

Now TVSpy reports he’s going to be helping WTSP get a leg on the other stations in Tampa, including the ones that typically vie for first place, WTVT and WFLA.

From the article:

“[WTSP is] poised to become a powerhouse [in Tampa],” Billi said in a statement. “I’m here to help.”

WTSP news director Peter Roghaar said Billi’s strengths include being a USF grad and Tampa native.

“I am glad he chose to come home and I think viewers will find his style of reporting informative and entertaining,” Roghaar told TVSpy.

Billi’s expected to serve as a nightside reporter and fill-in anchor.

Welcome back to the business, Charles!
