Florida native Christina Leavenworth has landed back in her home state after a stint at WWL-TV in New Orleans. Leavenworth was the morning traffic reporter there.

WEAR-TV–the ABC affiliate for the Mobile, Ala.,-Pensacola, Fla., market–has given her a weekend anchor and reporter position, hiring the Niceville native last week.

Leavenworth wrote about the change on her Facebook page, saying the decision was bittersweet.

“I felt so embraced and love everything about the people and the city [of New Orleans]. However, I’m moving back home to Pensacola,” she wrote on May 4.

The WEAR-TV station bio quotes Leavenworth as saying she knew Pensacola was where she wanted to be.

In fact, she’d already worked three years at WEAR’s competitor, FOX affiliate WALA-TV, prior to her Big Easy job.

Congratulations, Christina!
