WPTV in West Palm Beach, Fla., and WTVJ in Miami are both undergoing studio set renovations right now.

For WPTV, the change couldn’t come soon enough; SFLTV.com reports the old set had been there since the turn of the millenium.

As you can see in the top photo, posted to WPTV anchor Jon Shainman’s Facebook page, the anchor desk has already been removed.

The station’s newscasts will originate from a temporary set until the new set is complete.

Meanwhile, construction crews at WTVJ in Miami continue tearing down the studio set there in anticipation of a new look for the NBC affiliate.

Though I haven’t been given any information to prove this, I’m assuming the new set will echo the NBC O&O trend of branding “NBC Miami” all around the studio to match the on-air graphics package.

Here’s a photo from WTVJ’s construction, posted by station chief meteorologist John Morales:

We’ll keep you posted as the new sets take shape. And if you send us your pictures, we’ll post them, too (as long as they’re relevant, of course)!
