Viewers in New Orleans will have another smiling female face to wake them up in the mornings after the May ratings books.

A news release from WDSU-TV, the NBC affiliate in New Orleans, states Sula Kim, current weekend evening anchor and reporter at WVEC-TV in Norfolk, Va., will be starting later this month in the Crescent City.

Once she starts, she’ll be co-anchoring with Randi Rousseau, who’s currently anchoring solo in the mornings.

From the article:

“Mornings are special in New Orleans, and we think she’s a truly special person … and tremendous addition to our news team,” a statement from WDSU news director Jonathan Shelley said.

Kim has been with the Virginia ABC affiliate for the last seven years.

“I really love telling stories about people,” Kim said. “And there are so many stories to be told in and around New Orleans. It’s a magical city, and I look forward to being here.”

Congrats on the new job, Sula!
