He’s been with WZVN and WBBH for more than a decade, but in May, anchor Len Jennings will be trading in that sun and surf for Missouri, a state many say hinges between Southern hospitality and Northern sensibility.

Jennings goes to ABC affiliate KMBC after anchoring newscasts for WZVN (the ABC affiliate in Ft. Myers) for nearly 10 years. He’s been a primary anchor on sister station and NBC affiliate WBBH for a year.

From the official release on WBBH:

“Len is an outstanding journalist and proven leader. We know that our most talented are always scouted by larger television markets. It’s been great to have him as a part of our team and help set the stage for him to fulfill his dreams,” Waterman Broadcasting executive vice president and general manager Steve Pontius said. “We wish him the very best.”

A jump from the Ft. Myers-Naples market to Kansas City is quite significant; at 31st in the nation by Nielsen rankings, it’s a Top 50 opportunity.

Jennings says the move is an “opportunity of a lifetime.” His last day at WBBH is May 23, according to the article.

We wish you the best, Len!
