Live shots are supposed to have captivating backgrounds to entertain the audience or supplement the story, but what happened last week to a Jacksonville, Fla., CBS-affiliate reporter could have been much worse.

Florida News Center reports Catherine Varnum, a reporter for WTEV-TV, was finishing up a live shot after the Florida Republican primary Jan. 31, when two cars collide behind her and she’s ushered out of the way as one of the cars gets just feet away from the shot.

Live television at its finest, folks. Video after the jump.

You can hear the photog tell Varnum, “Watch yourself!” as the car swerves away from the camera.
