Corporate-owned stations certainly have their perks, especially when they’re part of the Tribune Company family.

SFLTV.com reports CW affiliate WSFL-TV, based in Miami, Fla., is already one week into airing a new morning show which is produced and put together hundreds of miles from sunny South Florida.

The show, titled “Eye Opener,” actually produced and taped at CW affiliate KDAF in Dallas, Texas (also a Tribune station) and is already airing in select markets nationwide, like Philadelphia and Portland, Ore.

WSFL canceled its morning show in August 2010.

Is this kind of outsourcing a sign of things to come as stations do their best to avoid layoffs and maintain a ratings hold in their markets?
