Southwest Floridians will be able to see more of former investigative reporter Mark Greenblatt because he just got a new gig with a lot of national exposure.

The News-Press’ Chris Wadsworth reports Greenblatt, who had worked for WBBH-TV (NBC2) in the early 2000s, has been named a national correspondent for ABC News.

That means Greenblatt will be moving from Houston, Texas, (and his current job at CBS affiliate KHOU-TV) to New York City very soon.

And Greenblatt will be reporting for all of ABC’s news shows. How’s that for airtime? Wadsworth also says Greenblatt isn’t the first to use his skills from the Ft. Myers-Naples market as a stepping stone to big things, though.

From the article:

Other former Southwest Floridians on the national scene include NBC anchor Hoda Kotb, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith, NBC News correspondent Kerry Sanders, MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts, CNN international reporter Sara Sidner and ABC reporter T.J. Winick.

A heartfelt congratulations to Greenblatt on his new venture.
