Nick Genty will be KATV’s new assistant news director, starting this month, according to industry insider Rick Gevers.

He comes to the ABC affiliate from competing CBS affiliate KTHV, where he worked as an executive producer.

Of course, KATV is still actively pursuing a news director as well, with a listing still posted on its website here.

As South TV News reported last month, the station’s longtime news director of more than 30 years, Randy Dixon, quit to start his own production company.

At least two others had already left, according to ArkansasBusiness.com, including the station’s chief engineer.

KATV has consistently been the ratings leader in the Little Rock-Pine Bluff market for years, and station management is hoping to find someone quickly who can continue that.
