Report: Florida Cities Number Among Nation’s Highest for News Anchor Salaries

In Florida, Hirings, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne, Salaries, Tampa-St. Petersburg on February 9, 2011 at 9:36 am

Television news anchors make anywhere from $37K – $97K, according to popular salary research website Payscale.com.

Of the top-ranked cities one needs to target for a high-paying job, only three fall within South TV News’ six-state jurisdiction, and they’re all in Florida.

Miami and Tampa rank fifth and sixth nationally in salaries, respectively. Orlando comes in at #19.

For Miami, news anchors range from $53,000-$119,000. By contrast, Orlando anchors (according to the site) make anywhere from around $50,000-$79,000.

Not exactly mind-blowing news, I suppose, considering there are more Top 50 markets in Florida than any other state in the southeast, but it is rather interesting.
